Aprilia RSV R description

2007 Aprilia RSV R Mille, The RSV 1000 R has clearly demonstrated its true colors in the World Endurance Championship, where it has been the only production twin to achieve amazing results among so many four cylinder machines. In legendary races like the Suzuka 8 hours and massacring endurance trials like the Oschersleben 24 hours, the RSV 1000 R has proved to the world that it can out-perform the best and still remain totally reliable.Top level racing has been an unforgettable experience for all involved, but has also served as a fantastic â¿¿test benchâ¿¿ for the new racing solutions that are already appearing on Apriliaâ¿¿s production bikes. Every aspect of the Aprilia RSV 1000 R has been improved, from the engine to the chassis and fairing. An RSV becomes an integral part of its riderâ¿¿s body. The footrests and handlebars are positioned to promote 100% active control. The sitting position leaves you totally free to move as you feel. As a result, riding an RSV 1000 R is physically and mentally more relaxing than riding any motorcycle of the competition. The RSV 1000 R is a supersport for the expert â¿¿ especially on the race track! Its amazing performance does not rely on horsepower alone, but is the result of a complete engine-frame-suspension-brakes package that delivers a smooth ride. Total usability and easy control have always been features of the Aprilia RSV. The updated and better than ever Aprilia RSV 1000 R remains a leader among sports twins, not only for the amazing technology that has gone into it but for the breathtaking performance that comes out too!

Fri, 25 Nov 2011

The Aspar racing team announced the signing of Randy de Puniet and Aleix Espargaró to compete in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship on a CRT racebike powered by Aprilia engines. De Puniet (pictured above with his Playboy model girlfriend Lauren Vickers) rode a mystery race bike for Aspar this week at a MotoGP test, believed to be a modified version of Aprilia‘s WSBK-spec RSV4 with MotoGP-issue Bridgestone tires and carbon brakes. CRT rules require the use of a prototype chassis, so the Aspar machine cannot use the RSV4′s chassis.

WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.
