Aprilia SL 750 description

2008 Aprilia SL 750 Shiver, like new!! very low miles!! - THE MEDIUM POWERED NAKED CLASS DISCOVERS THE APRILIA SL 750 SHIVER. INTUITIVE, POWERFUL, MANEUVERABLE AND HIGH TECHNOLOGY. ONCE AGAIN, AN APRILIA TWIN SETS NEW TECHNOLOGY AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS IN ITS CLASS. A NAKED THRILLING TO RIDE LIKE FEW OTHERS. It is certainly no easy matter to take the lead in a class as fiercely competitive as the medium powered naked class. A class where the battle is not just about technology and performance, but also design, component rationality and riding ease and pleasure, elements which are not always compatible and are particularly demanding for designers and engineers. Aprilia has picked up this challenge and interpreted it by applying its own successful philosophy to a completely new design, destined to set new standards for years to come. A bike both strongly aggressive and at the same time clean-cut and elegant, in perfect Aprilia style. A bike at the top of its class for its sporty personality, designed on the basis of the know-how of a company which has to date won 250 world championship victories. The pride of all Aprilia bikes, refined mechanics and a top class chassis, are once again the key to the success of the SL 750 Shiver. The Aprilia SL 750 Shiver is the naked everyone was waiting for. A design able to satisfy the disparate needs of those buying this type of bike. From everyday use to a trip along mountain passes or use on the racetrack, the Aprilia SL 750 Shiver is completely at home in any situation, guaranteeing pure riding pleasure at all times. Light, agile and powerful, it has a new generation engine and the most advanced technical features in its class. The brand new 90° V2 produced entirely in-house by Aprilia is extremely compact. Above all, thanks to the advanced electronic management, it can deliver a level of power comparable to four cylinder engines in the same class, but with much more favorable torque at low revs for an efficient and pleasing ride even on everyday routes. True to the Aprilia tradition, the chassis simply has no rivals in its class. The innovative mixed trellis / aluminum frame provides standard setting rigidity. All this makes the bike extremely compact, perfect even for the beginner. With a dry weight of just 189-kilograms, the lightness of the Aprilia SL 750 Shiver also satisfies the most canny motorcyclist. Its maneuverability and engine performance enable the bike to accompany its owner from his first few meters on two wheels up to his complete motorcycling maturity. The main characteristics of the Aprilia SL 750 Shiver are: 90° V2 engine with four-valves per cylinder, double overhead camshaft and liquid cooling Ride-by-Wire technology for electronic control of the throttle bodies Electronic fuel injection with latest generation injectors Mixed gear and chain valve timing Three-way catalyt

Our Magnificent seven

Wed, 16 Feb 2011

Remember to dust your Union Jacks down if you happen to be visiting any Grand Prix this year as we have no less than seven youngsters to cheer on in the junior Moto GP classes. I don’t think we’ve ever had this many ‘yoofs’ in the GP paddock so let’s hope they can do the business and bring an end to our long drought of Grand Prix titles. And that could be soon as Scott Redding is already a hot favourite for the 2011 Moto 2 championship on his Marc VDS Suter machine.

EICMA 2012: Aprilia RSV4 R Updated with ABS and Power Increase

Thu, 15 Nov 2012

At October’s Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, Aprilia announced a number of upgrades to its RSV4 Factory, giving the sportbike more power, anti-lock brakes and a number of other updates. This week at the 2012 EICMA Show, Aprilia extended those updates to it’s slightly less upscale but still pretty damn good base model, the RSV4 R. The production versions of Max Biaggi‘s World Superbike Championship-winning racebike, the Aprilia RSV4 R (all-black in these pictures) and the RSV4 Factory (pictured with red trim)  receive an engine upgrade to reduce internal friction and casing ventilation.

WSBK 2013: Laguna Seca Race Report

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty each came away with a victory as the World Superbike Championship made its return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The first race featured two red flags, ironically caused by AMA Superbike regulars Danny Eslick and Roger Hayden, the two men with the most recent experience at the famed track. The second race was a much cleaner affair, with a dramatic finish, setting up the final two rounds of the championship.
