BMW K-Series description

2008 BMW K1200S, 23,900 miles, clear title.  All maintenance & service done local at Gina’s BMW in Iowa City, IA, have all service records and receipts.  I am the 2nd owner, I bought it 3 years ago from an employee at Gina’s BMW.  Previous owner and I both adults with plenty of riding experience.  Bike is in very good condition, and has never been dropped or laid down.  It is always garage kept, on front and rear stands, and a battery tender.  This bike is great for long trips, even 2-up with luggage, or short and aggressive riding on twisty roads.  It has factory keyed (same as ignition) BMW expandable hard saddle bags, as well as the extra BMW factory rear luggage rack.  This bike is EXTREMELY fast, and is not a bike for beginners; 1,157cc (dry sump), 150+ hp, 6 sp, shaft-drive.  I have added a waterproof USB port, Remus Powercone exhaust, and K&N air filters.  Tires are Michelin Pilot Pure.  Factory ABS, and adjustable rear suspension.  I also have a digital service manual on CD.  Additional pictures and/or information available upon request.  Brand new BMW battery purchased and installed 10AUG13

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Is there anything you CAN'T do on an S1000RR?

Mon, 08 Mar 2010

WE'VE SEEN videos of BMW's stunning new S1000RR pulling wheelies, stunting, sliding, racing a 700bhp Corvette, featured in a music video - we've even had a look inside the engine and now the company are using the 190bhp superbike as part of a new-style drag act - but not the Danny La Rue type. Real or not, the clip makes for amusing viewing.  Have a look.
