BMW Other description

2001 BMW F650GS Dakar with 1179 original miles, never abused, and tastefully modified.I purchased this bike from the original owner a couple of years ago, with roughly 700mis on it at the time. The bike has always been babied, and always maintained. That said, I have not had that much time to ride the Dakar (obviously), but when I have, it has always been exhilarating.Great sounds, wonderful riding position, and a lot of fun both on and off road.In the time that I have had the bike, I have done the following:A&S "The Big One" service kit installedYuasa batteryEBC front brake rotorDID gold chainPIAA's with custom mounts that I made (without modification to the motorcycle)SW-Motech center standDunlop 606 tires with about 150 mis on them.I also removed the majority of the decals that originally came on the bike (personal taste), I painted the gauge surround and windshield matte black, and also removed the skid plate/belly pan. With respect to collectors, though, I would be willing to include a new set of decals, the skid plate, and a new gauge surround if the reserve on the bike is met. I believe that the windshield , at least new, is no longer availableNew fork seals (uninstalled), and a very comprehensive service and repair CD, are included as well. The Dakar is cosmetically and mechanically excellent, with only 1 minor scuff on the bodywork, left of the headlamp (see photo) and 1 on the same side, but positioned below the saddle, and unseen.Otherwise, I cannot imagine a nicer 2001 Dakar that has actually been ridden, albeit occasionally, over the past 13yr.This motorcycle is the real deal, a true collectors piece. Please feel free to contact me with requests for more pictures and/or descriptive

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.

Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.

My S1000RR has stopped but it's only a broken chain.

Thu, 15 Sep 2011

I know there has been a lack of blogging on my S1000RR recently and that’s because it’s broken, but only a little bit. On July 18th I was at Silverstone looking after some Bahnstormer BMW customers, when late in the afternoon something hit me on the back as I was charging down the Wellington Straight. At that precise moment I also thought I had hit a false neutral but it turns out the chain had snapped.
