Retired racer Loris Capirossi has been named BMW M MotoGP Expert, representing the official MotoGP safety car provider in the world championship. Since retiring from racing after the 2011 MotoGP season Capirossi has been serving as MotoGP’s Safety Adviser. That, plus his familiarity with the MotoGP paddock and its racing circuits, makes him the logical choice as an ambassador for BMW M, the German manufacturer’s racing-performance subsidiary.

Second Annual Cirkus of Speed By Öhlins Suspension

This year’s Cirkus of Speed by Öhlins Suspension features “police rodeo” star Ben Wolfe of Lock & Lean, performing precision motorcycle riding. Located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the second annual event is a combination of race machines, crazy customs, hot rods, exotic motorcycles and cars, V-Twins and race bikes, street and off-road machines. BMW and Husqvarna to Unveil Concept Models at Frankfurt Auto Show

BMW will unveil an electric scooter concept model and an entry level Husqvarna streetbike concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The BMW concept, shown in the teaser sketch above, will likely be a version of the E-Scooter electric maxiscooter concept announced in July. BMW claimed the E-Scooter’s liquid-cooled electric motor offers performance similar to a 600cc combustion engine, while the battery casing itself will form the body of the frame.
