This beautiful BMW boxer twin motorcycle is one of those manufactured in Berlin, Germany by BMW in 1972. The /5 "airhead" models are air cooled, four stroke, opposed twin, boxer engine hemispherical combustion chambers. Rust free, well cared for, always garage kept motorcycle looking for an owner that appreciates an asset that will continue to gain value. This 44 year old airhead is more than a classic and ready to roll for many years to come. Included with this motorcycle that I received as a gift from my father in law is a brand new R60/5 clutch disc. This motorcycle starts great however I'm not a motorcycle expert and I don't ride like I said it's a gift. This motorcycle is SOLD AS IS! BMW Reports 2012 Sales Results
Tue, 19 Mar 2013BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.
Husqvarna Reveals BMW G650GS-Engined Concept Strada
Tue, 29 Nov 2011Husqvarna unveiled a new streetbike model powered by the engine from parent company BMW’s G650GS. The Husqvarna Concept Strada was int4roduced in Paris at the Salon de la Moto show. Though Husqvarna is calling the supermoto-styled Strada a concept, but the new model is near production ready, with Husqvarna expecting to begin sales in 2012, possibly as a 2013 model.
FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
