BMW R-Series description

Rare extremely low mileage classic black BMW with the small sport tank.  Originally a California bike.  Bought from 2nd owner.
Early model R90/6 (1/74 mfg date) with factory LWB modification - still has the alloy turn signals, optional kick starter, hash marks on the gauges
Very, very clean, was dry stored since 2002. Just installed a new battery, new oil, air filters, cleaned carbs, new floats.
Needs nothing but a key cut for seat latch and perhaps tires. Included is a complete tuneup kit: points, plugs, carb rebuild kit, valve cover gaskets. Tank and fenders are sporting original paint. Side covers have either been repainted or just had decals removed. Have a set of decals on order.
Valve cover on left side has minor rash from a spill (possibly why it was put in storage) and a small scuff shows on the left side of the instrument cluster as shown in the pics. Some minor rust and pitting on the bars. Otherwise a very nice and complete example.
Starts first kick or at the touch of the button, idles quietly, runs, stops & shifts well. No leaks, no smoke, everything works - all of the mechanical and electrical is functioning well.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

S1000RR vs. Goodwood

Sat, 20 Mar 2010

And before you say it, no it's not "Start and finish a journey on two wheels without falling off." I rode up Goodwood's hill. And I did it on BMW's mighty S1000RR. Ok, so it wasn't infront of thousands of on-lookers and it wasn't at any great speed.
