BMW R-Series description

Complete frame-up restoration by well-regarded Mid-West independent BMW tech ( a good friend of mine who originally planned to keep the bike for himself ) of my 1,000cc matching numbers '77 R100RS. This example is one of the approximately 200-only of first year production 40mm intake/exhaust ( "big pipe" ) 70 HP models ever imported into the US. As far as I know, future RS models reverted to a 38mm configuration producing less HP. Since I ride the bike regularly ( mileage now approximately 6,300 since restoration ), all maintenance is up-to-date and all "mechanicals" and "electricals" ( including the clock ! ) function properly. Avon Road Rider tires have seen only 2,000 miles. When not ridden, the bike is stored in my RV garage and kept on a battery tender through the installed BMW electrical socket. The bike's new owner will receive two sets of ignition keys ( one of which is a "folding" key ) / expandable BMW tank bag/correct Krauser panniers with two complete sets of keys which not only lock the bags to the frame but also lock the bags themselves/proper Riders Manual, Technical Data Manual and BMW shop manual. A Brown side stand has also been installed for more convenient ( perhaps safer too ) deployment. Center stand and BMW spring loaded side stand remain on the bike. Sorry, solo seat only! I will provide assistance with shipping. Please contact me with specific questions but SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. Do not waste my time or yours. $500.00 non-refundable deposit due upon acceptance of offer. Balance due within five days. Contact me directly for payment methods and buyer approval at 928 642 5379.

BMW Unveils E-Scooter Concept

Fri, 01 Jul 2011

As we expected BMW has revealed information about a new scooter model, releasing pictures of a new electric maxi-scooter concept. The BMW E-Scooter was developed with funding form Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. The E-Scooter was created with two goals in mind: to offer performance comparable to a 600cc combustion engine-powered maxi-scooter and to offer sufficient range for an urban commuter. BMW wanted the E-Scooter to provide enough power and speed for freeway passing and climbing steep slopes even with a pillion passenger.
