BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
This bike is in excellent condition. I'm the 2nd owner and bought it from a BMW mechanic in 1988. I've only put about 5,000 mi. on it. It's never been down and I have done all the maintenance on it. It has no problems. There are minimal minor nicks in the paint on the fairing. This is a mostly stock motorcycle. Original tool kit and owners manual included along with some extra tires, handlebars, and cover.
Extras/ maintenance: Parabellum windshield, Brown side stand, Reynolds ctr. stand and sissy bar, Piaa fog lights, hard cases, new battery, steering head rebuild, front and rear hydraulic brake cylinder rebuild. Ready to ride anywhere. |

Hi-Def video of BMW S1000RR on the dyno
Mon, 15 Mar 2010THERE'S SOMETHING rather cruel about ringing the nuts out of any bike on a dyno - a bit like poking a lion through the bars of a cage with a long stick... Anyway, not quite sure where I'm going with that one, so here's a rather lovely clip of BMW's much-lauded S1000RR getting a stationary pasting on a dyno. Not sure I'd be standing at the rear, mind you.
John Surtees to Lead Classic Vehicle Parade Fundraiser
Fri, 03 May 2013Motorsports legend John Surtees will lead a parade of classic cars and motorcycles – including Surtees’ 1960 500cc Grand Prix Championship-winning MV Agusta – in his home town of Edenbridge, England. Surtees is the only person to have ever won world championships in both Grand Prix motorcycle racing and Formula One, and the parade will feature cars and bikes from his time as both a racer and a racing team owner. Surtees himself will drive the Team Surtees TS7, a F1 car constructed by his own team that debuted at the 1970 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch.
EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW R1200RT First Impressions Video
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The R1200RT has gone liquid cooled, inheriting the new boxer engine with BMW’s “precision cooling” technology from the new R1200GS. But that’s not all that’s changed on the RT as Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke points out in the video below from the 2013 EICMA show floor. With a new K1600GT-inspired look, more power and a number of factory-installed options, one of our favorite touring bikes is better than ever. Get the Flash Player to see this player.
