BMW R-Series description

Up for sale is my custom 1988 BMW R100RS cafe racer.
This bike was inspired by a build I saw done by le french atelier that I fell in love with, there were definitely no expenses spared on this build.

PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS BUYER, THANK YOU! I'd really appreciate that.

Loads of custom work and time spent on this bike so please feel free to ask me any questions and I will do my best to answer them all as clearly as possible. My friend Osh over at Oshmo did some really cool machine work for the bike from the top triple tree clamp to the rear sets along with various other goodies. Some of the parts are now available from Oshmo so be sure to check him out if you are looking for some parts for your project. The engine was checked inside and out with excellent results on compression test and carbs were cleaned, balanced and tuned. Fresh oil all round down to the drive shaft plus some fresh gaskets where they were needed so this machine runs amazingly and everything works perfectly. The gearbox is one of the smoothest airhead gearboxes i've felt to date. The fiberglass tail section is 1 of 3 that were custom fabricated for Jeremy Malman from Worth Motorcycles over in NY by a very talented german fellow named Thor Strenger and I was lucky enough to snag the 3rd one which Thor was originally keeping for himself but ever so kindly sold to me. Definitely check him out for some other custom seats for BMW's and also check out worth motorcycles as they do some wicked work.
Brembo dual disc brakes work like a charm and this bike can stop on a dime which is a big reason as to why I chose this base model to build my cafe racer. My last one was an R75 with the single disc up front and I found it rather scary to ride that bike in comparison to this one. It's also the increasingly popular R100RS so it has a good amount of get up and go plus this is the monolever (monoshock) model which is also becoming more and more difficult to find. The anti gravity battery is located (hidden) underneath a fiberglass replica of the old air box for an extremely clean look which you can see in some of the last pictures.
Bar end turn signals, headlight and tail and brake lights all work perfectly.

Please note: If you do not like the color the tank, rear cowling (seat) and front fender can be re painted to a color of your liking for additional $ which we can discuss (time needed for the body shop to do it would be about 2 weeks)

Basic list of some build items: (forgive me if i've left anything out)
Tarrozi clip ons,
Bar end turn signal and mirrors
Progressive fork springs,
New fork seals,
Fork lowers and wheels powder coated black,
Two steel braided brake lines that individually run to each caliper,
LED flasher relay,

I have attached a short video so you can see first hand how the bike runs. Its in amazing condition with extremely smooth shifting and ride characteristics. Sorry about the crazy wind noise from the go pro, it really makes it sound and look like i was riding crazy fast even though i wasn't.
Feel free to message me with any questions or requests for additional pictures etc. I'll do my best to facilitate to make you as comfortable as possible when it comes to bidding on this motorcycle.

I am in Los Angeles so local pick up or shipping will be fine. Thanks for looking. Take care.

Thanks for looking!

The electric maxi-scooter concept rode onto BMW’s main presentation stage along with the Husqvarna E-go youth-oriented electric motorcycle concept.
