BMW R-Series description

Very clean and fully serviced classic 1989 BMW R100RT. Complete with set of BMW hard bags, perfect Corbin dual seat with backrest, Brembo dual front disc brakes, tubeless aluminum alloy wheels and Brown Currier side stand. There is a smallish crack and paint chip in the fairing by the right side mirror and a minor scuff in the rear cowl as shown in photos. This bike presents and runs very well as an air-cooled twin with so few miles should. All fluids have been changed, valves adjusted, carbs synchronized and abundant tread left in both tires. Pick it up and enjoy the New England fall foliage on your ride home!

Although any shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer, we are happy to work with your shipper or can deliver within 150 miles for a reasonable fee.

Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

Sat, 01 Nov 2008

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
