BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
I'm selling my 2008 R1200R with a little over 9500 miles on it. It is in excellent condition, and I'm selling it because I am no longer able to ride it. Reluctantly parting with it, hoping that a new owner will enjoy it as much as I have.
This bike is single-owner, has been garage kept and ridden lightly. Dealer-serviced every spring until summer 2015. Latest revision done at Motorworks Chicago on June 30th 2015, all previous service records are in the owner's logbook. Clear IL title with all original paperwork, including manuals for bike and extras. Ridden recently and rides great! The bike comes with a few extras:

BMW Introduces Dynamic Damping Control Suspension System
Mon, 04 Jul 2011BMW has developed new suspension technology that automatically adjusts damping for different riding conditions. The Dynamic Damping Control is the next evolutionary step in BMW‘s suspension technology, following its Electronic Suspension Adjustment systems (ESA and ESA II). While ESA allowed the rider to adjust suspension settings with the push of a button, DDC automatically makes adjustments as you ride.
Ohlins Issues Recall Notice For BMW S1000RR And R1200R Steering Dampers
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Ohlins is issuing a recall notice for select aftermarket steering dampers for the BMW S1000RR and R1200R. The company believes the bracket holding the damper in place to be improperly machined, and a probable material defect in the aluminum alloy could cause stress fractures. Ohlins states that although “there is no risk for losing control during normal riding,” there is a risk the bracket will fail during slow-speed maneuvers, where the bars are turned at maximum steering angle.
Watch A BMW R1200GS Being Built From Start To Finish + Video
Thu, 24 Apr 2014BMW’s venerable R1200GS has a lot of fans around the globe, including us. To my eyes, the GS does a fine job of maintaining a traditional dirtbike’s minimalist appearance, minus those bulging cylinders protruding from either end. But now more than ever, thanks to the introduction of liquid-cooling, the GS is a modern marvel of mechanical and electrical engineering.
