BMW R-Series description

2010 BMW R1200GS Adventure

This is the 30th Anniversary Special Edition celebrating 30 Years of GS Bikes.
All options except TPM

The bike is just back from the BMW dealer, where all factory service was updated. It also had a new fuel pump installed at no charge from the open GS recall. The dealership performed the full service as well as a Texas state inspection. There are no issues of any kind with this exceptional, rare 30-year special edition bike. The tires have approximately 1500-2000 miles of tread left...Everything has been checked out, gone over, and tuned up to perfect running condition.

What's included:
Three BMW boxes keyed to ignition
Original Red Special Edition front and rear seats.
Touratech Kahedo X-low front and rear seats.
Adventure Designs lower crash bars.
Ram Mount for Mobile device with SAE connector.
Plastic get-home Key.
Single original Key.
Owners Manuals.
30 Years GS Special Edition Brochure.
Shoei Neotec Modular White Helmet.
Scala Rider Headset with FM Stereo and Bluetooth for Mobile phone.

Mechanical Issues: None...runs perfectly. At 7000 miles it's just getting broken in. The rear tire will need a shot of air every 3 or 4 days (completely normal on these bikes)
Ride Issues: None...Rides perfectly. This is an exceptional road machine that's very happy on dirt roads too. Easily the best bike I've ever ridden or owned...great, great machine. It's never been in deep mud, sand, or gravel.
Cosmetic Issues: There are a few very slight curb scrapes on the crash bars....I did not even know they were there until taking pics. The bike's paint, fairing, seats, and plastic are unblemished with only minor wear visible. This bike is an exceptionally clean, babied, good looking GS.
Accessories Issues: Right rear can has 4 dents from another GS toppling into it in the parking lot (This bike did not go down). This dents were covered (hidden) by stickers for the last 3 years but I removed them to take the pictures. Helmet has a nick or two, manufactures touch up paint (unopened) is included.

Why am I selling?  I actually sold it a couple of years ago but decided to keep it after the guy who "I actually don't have the money" backed out. I'm keeping an old Triumph and a couple of dirt bikes...this one isn't getting ridden enough to keep it. This is not an easy bike to part with.

I'm an Airline Pilot and I take great pride in the safety, performance, and looks of my equipment. Zero chance I sell you anything I couldn't get on tomorrow and ride to Alaska. This bike has been well-cared for, ridden consistently but sparingly, and everything is in perfect working order. If you are even remotely considering the new water-cooled GS, I"d take a long hard look at history of these bikes and consider paying thousands and thousands less for what is easily every bit of bike (better?) as the new ones.  If you're looking at oil cooled models, the 2010 is the first year to sport the new engine, and is virtually identical to the 2013 model.
  • What I'll trade for:  Your money....Please no other offers.
  • Where I'll ship: Anywhere...you arrange and you pay.
  • When is payment due?  Immediate non-refundable deposit via Paypal, balance within 7 calendar days, certified funds.
  • Does it have a clear title?  Yes.
  • Can I see it?  Yes, please come on down to sunny San Antonio.  I'll have a couple of beers on standby.
  • Can I test drive it?  Only after you buy it and pay in full...The dealership just performed a comprehensive inspection two days ago.
  • I don't see a license plate on the bike...Where is it?  Gone. The motorcycle is insured and inspected but unregistered. The new owner will put all future miles on her.
  • Why two sets of seats? I have a 30-inch inseam and was much more comfortable on the low seat. The set of Kahedo seats was $900 alone. The red ones were boxed in a closet until I got them out for the pics.
  • What's the reserve? It's the NADA Average Retail Value including options. Nothing added for the low mileage, outstanding condition, special edition, and accessories (boxes). Look it up.
Questions?  I'll respond via email.  Please research this bike thoroughly and you'll see what a great value it is. Check my feedback rating. Please don't bid if you don't have any money.

I reserve the right to sell this bike locally.

Thanks for your time and interest.
