Reluctantly selling my 11996 BMW r100gspd classic I purchased the classic from freeman cycles beverly mass 7-20-99 actual mileage was 1,140 bike has never been off road mostly used to display motorcycle apparel in my store, sold my store in 2007 since then the bike has been in storage the classic has only 4,602 miles i upgraded the seat to a Corbin, installed highway pegs, changed the original shock to a performance work . The shock lowered the bike by an inch and a half improved ride especially on highway (I have original shock ). BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.
