BMW R-Series description

1952 BMW R25/3, the model that many would say saved BMW after the Second World War.
This bike was imported to Canada from Australia in 2002, and I do have all the Importation documents.

The previous owner had the bike running a few years ago, and parked it. It was on display in his private collection since then.
I have not insured the bike since buying it, so there is no active registration or title but will be sold with bill of sale.

It would most likely not take much effort to get this bike Road ready, that said it depends on what you are looking for.
To become a driver with minimal work it would require tightening the handlebars, new battery, new gas, check the brakes and tires, and go.

If you are wanting a restored bike, the paint is older and showing its age, there are signs of older body work near the rear hinged fender.
The tail light and left control are not BMW parts. It would require complete renovation if you are wanting a show bike.

The good news is that the tank is original and all steel, same with the fenders, these are often replaced with fibreglass replicas. There is good value in the tin alone! The seat is in great shape, perhaps had a new cover or pad at some point. Exhaust is in very nice condition as well.

The engine is free and feels as though it has strong compression.

An appreciating classic, with fantastic lines!
Sold as is due to age.

2012 BMW C600 Sport and C650GT Scooter Preview

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

While Japanese OEMs persist in their cautiousness, BMW continues its assault on new markets, most recently with its incredible S1000RR literbike. Over the past four years, the German company has nearly doubled its 500cc-plus market share from about 7% to 13%, and the 2011 model year is on pace to set a sales record of more than 103,000 motorcycles. For 2012, BMW enters the lucrative scooter segment with a pair of twin-cylinder maxi-scoots claimed to combine the agility and comfort of a scooter with the riding qualities of a motorcycle.

WSBK: 2012 Misano Results – Video

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.

The future of law enforcement?

Mon, 12 Jul 2010

THANKFULLY you're not looking at latest addition to the US Police force's motorcycle fleet - it's the futuristic machine that featured in the 2009 movie "Star Trek" .It's being prepped before being suspended mid-air in the "Born to be Wild: Vintage and Celebrity Motorcycles" exhibition in the Reagan Library's Air Force One Pavilion in Simi Valley, California. Looks a bit like a BMW R1200S, don't you think?
