BMW R-Series description

Selling my awesome 2007 R1200RT. I am the proud second owner and have been as meticulous with maintenance as the previous owner was with a logbook and every receipt for service that this bike has had. It has always been serviced by Sandia BMW in New Mexico, where I bought it and rode it home. I changed the oil afterward the trip in February of this year and because I have no time to ride it, I have decided to sell it. I only put on 200 miles since then. So, I'd rather see someone else enjoy it.

Being it is a 2007, it is the first year for the much better ABS brake system without the servo motors. The system is lighter, less complicated, and much more reliable. This is one of the main reasons why I bought this bike, aside from the service history being so incredibly documented.

It has many options including factory heated grips, factory heated front and rear seats, locking side cases, locking matte silver 49L top case, keyed to the bike, BMW Tankbag (a little rough, but it's yours) Ram Mount cupholder, X-grip cell phone holder with a micro USB charger and to top it off, the Factory Motorrad Navigator navigation system with factory harness. I also added a BMW accessories RT-P LED taillight and a ZTechnik muffler for a little more sound without being obnoxious. Also has a K&N air filter installed. Recent services include a new fuel pump control module, new rear tire and brake system flush. In all, there's about $3,000 in accessories and thousands in maintenance, services and other things. There's $27,000 sitting here on these two wheels. This is a bargain!

Bike needs nothing. Jump on and ride it home. Never seen salt, snow or anything like that. It's been either in the Sunbelt or SoCal. The previous owner rode it North to San Jose, so this bike is well traveled and reliable. I've never so much as even had this bike tipped over, but I believe the previous owner has, with minor scrapes as shown. It has always been garaged. Overall the bike is in very good condition and is ready for many more miles. Comes with clean California title under my name with no liens, two metal keys and one plastic key (3 in total.)

I will include all the items listed in this auction. I am in Irvine, CA, which is 15 minutes from Santa Ana John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA (SNA.) You can fly to this airport and I will gladly pick you up and you can ride home with all your gear. Seriously, this bike is ready to go anywhere. I'd ride it to NYC if I had the time. Sold as is, sale is final. Reserve is very fair for everything included and is less than what dealers want. Please email me with any questions, but don't ask for the reserve. Thanks for looking!

EICMA 2008: First Impressions

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.

2012 Piaggio X10 350i Review – First Ride

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

Back in 1993 Piaggio had developed the Hexagon, which became the world’s first so called GT scooter. Through the X7 to the all new X10, Piaggio has developed its new flagship scooter, and in Paris I got to sample the 350cc version of the X10. Piaggio will offer the X10 as a 125, 350 and 500cc version.

BMW Introduces Dynamic Damping Control Suspension System

Mon, 04 Jul 2011

BMW has developed new suspension technology that automatically adjusts damping for different riding conditions. The Dynamic Damping Control is the next evolutionary step in BMW‘s suspension technology, following its Electronic Suspension Adjustment systems (ESA and ESA II). While ESA allowed the rider to adjust suspension settings with the push of a button, DDC automatically makes adjustments as you ride.
