BSA 441 Victor tech info
BSA 441 Victor description
What I have for sale is a 441 that I bought from the second owner, he had bought it from a motorcycle shop in Colorado in1978, it is in excellent physical condition, there are essentially only 3 actual dents on the whole bike, one that is smaller than a dime on the right headlight ear and 2 small dents in the muffler end, on the tank there are some small scratches and few small nicks in the chrome but nothing you can actually call a dent (maybe a very small ding), the tank could be perfect without much effort, the fenders are in excellent condition (a few small scratches but not much more) with even the rear fender edge dead nuts perfect, the seat is excellent, the tires are very good with no dry rot (a testament to how it was stored), the shocks are pretty good, the paint isn't perfect especially on the oil tank but the frame is pretty good with little scratching as is the skid plate, the wheels have some surface pitting (the front more than the rear) but are just about perfect otherwise with no spoon or tire iron marks / gouges, if you were looking to re-chrome an original set of wheels these would be the ones, the original spokes will clean up 100%, it appears the bike is only missing the chain guard (I have one that came with the bike but I don't think it's correct) the carb to air box boot (shot) and the BSA tank plug, it will need a few other odds and ends like 2 bolts for the seat, a decompression cable (broken), grips and a clevis for the front brake that attaches the cable to the lever (and I'm sure a few other small things) the bike has been in heated storage in the previous owners home for approximately 10 years where it had been put away within weeks of having the top end rebuilt, I know that the coil went bad (it crumbled in my hands) I provided a Emglo coil that I had for the ET ignition, this being said I have not tried to start it or hook up the coil or even go through the wiring, assume that you will have to spend a couple of hours going through it (I have a new set of points and a carb kit I will give to the new owner), I just had a complete knee replacement 2 months ago and starting a big single is not for me (unless it doesn't make the reserve then I will finish it), take advantage of this opportunity to get a hold of an un molested bike in excellent condition, I realize the paint isn't perfect but this is a great set of bones, it's unrestored so there is nothing hidden, what you see is what you get.

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer
Tue, 24 Mar 2009There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.
