BSA B50MX / TR5 MX TRIUMPH description

I swore I would never sell this, my very last bike from collecting more than 200. My mom has Alzheimers so her care trumps my last bike.

I dreamed of owning this model since I was 17 in 1973. I found this example in the California desert about 5 years ago. I bought it from original owner who swore the seat was original from the dealer. I have had 6-7 other B50MX's and 2 TR5MX's and all had the solo seat. This is the latest number bike I have had. This is the original tank for the bike. All numbers are matching TR5MX numbers. I assume that he had a desert tank on her for most of her life. I'm told that by this late date in the life of the B50MX the factory was scrounging whatever parts they could to ship the remaining bikes here to USA. I simply know this is the most preserved example I have ever seen. Frame paint looks original as does the tires. The tank has only a small imperfection as can be seen on right side lower front. This bike has the original megaphone tucked behind the plate.

She fired up on 2-3 rd kick and breathed fire down the street out of her megaphone about a year ago. The folks down the street were not too pleased. I have been keeping her in my office since then.

I will help with shipping worldwide all I can. I can have a crate built for $200 should you need it. Whoever gets this jewel will be very happy. Thanks for bidding. I'm open to offers.

Billy Joel Has 1967 BSA Restored On “American Restoration”

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

The 1967 BSA Royal Star 650 has a special place in the heart of the Piano Man, Billy Joel — it was the first motorcycle he ever had. As time went on and Joel’s career blossomed, the love for motorcycles only grew. In fact, Joel even has his own motorcycle shop.

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer

Tue, 24 Mar 2009

There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.

Paul Teutel Senior of “American Chopper” fame is having a clear-out of his bike collection but the machines on offer are a far cry from the overblown customs he's renowned for building.
