BSA Lightning description

1967 BSA A65 Lightning with original paint:

I've owned this bike for two years and I have hardly ridden it.  It's been stored in my garage and living room and it seems a shame to hide it, so I'm passing it on.
She shifts through the gears, starts on the first kick and brakes very well.
This is a strong runner, and in very good condition for it's age.

  • Boyer electronic ignition
  • 7476 low miles
  • New MotoBatt QuadFlex AGM Battery
  • Excellent Avon Speedmaster front and Avon Mk2 rear tires
  • BTE dual throttle
  • White Amal type grips (original Gran Tourismos included)
  • Center stand is fully functional, but the side stand needs to re-welded to the frame (comes with bike)
  • Lots of extras come with this bike

  • Scratches on the tank (pictured)
  • Two Amal Concentric carbs (original Monoblocs included)
  • Battery tender cable attached for easy trickle charging
  • Matching numbers (pictured)

The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.

The 1967 BSA Royal Star 650 has a special place in the heart of the Piano Man, Billy Joel — it was the first motorcycle he ever had. As time went on and Joel’s career blossomed, the love for motorcycles only grew. In fact, Joel even has his own motorcycle shop.
