Big Dog Wolf description

Please read the entire description before bidding. This bike is somewhat unique compared to the 2009-11 Big Dog Wolf models:

If you are familiar with Big Dog Motorcycles, then you are probably already aware that the last year that the Big Dog Wolf was manufactured by the factory was in 2011. I worked for Big Dog at the factory in Wichita Kansas for over 10 years and have built a handful of special construction bikes during that time frame. This bike was built from the ground up just this past year for a political figure in the Bahaman Islands that dropped almost $50,000 building this bike to his specifications, but 2 days before delivery he decided he did not want the bike due to relocation to Europe and I am now offering it up for sale. Although this bike was built with all OEM parts and built to factory specifications (with the exception of the larger 132ci motor & special paint), it is not titled as a “Big Dog Motorcycle”. It is a “Special Construction” bike and will appear on the title as an “ASV Wolf” (or/ Assembled Vehicle). More details are listed at the bottom.

The chassis is based on the 2009-11 Wolf frame. There were 156 Big Dog Wolfs made between 2009-11. This bike is built on a factory production frame that was left over from production when Big Dog closed in 2011. The MSO for the frame is labeled as “Big Dog”. The overall frame tube diameter is 1-1/2 with the exception of the front single down tube measuring 2” in diameter. The Wheels are chrome plated with a chrome Drive Side Brake set up by Performance Machine and a matching chrome 1-1/8 Drive Pulley. The brake rotors are 2 piece floating discs and are also chrome plated and cut to match the wheel & pulley design. The rear suspension uses 11.5” adjustable shocks by Progressive (w/ 1150lb springs).

The engine is the big upgrade on this bike. All of the production Big Dog bikes ran the S&S 121ci X-Wedge motor. When this bike was built, the buyer forked out over $13,000 this year to drop a 132 motor in this bike. Due to the different degree clocking of the engine on the 121, I had to make slight frame modifications to shoe horn this beast into the frame, but it was worth every bit of the work!! The stock 121 was a 4-1/8 bore & 4-1/8 stroke. This 132 has a 4-1/8 stroke and was bored out to 4-1/4”.. The motor is fully polished and has the factory 2 year warranty in full effect from S&S.

The intake & fuel system is the S&S Electronic Fuel Injection Set up. The ECM computer on the bike is “unlocked” (unlike the factory Wolf ECM which is “locked”) so you can change software and tune the bike however you want (software & box file will come with the bike). The exhaust System is also updated to the Vance & Hines Performance Big Radius 2-2 system.

The Transmission & Drive Train is the Baker DSSC Right Side Drive set up from Big Dog (BDM Balance Drive). The transmission is fully polished and is a 6 speed gear set up. The transmission was purchased directly from Baker this year and also has the factory 2 year warranty in full effect from Baker.

Other things worth mentioning are; the seat was covered in black shark skin leather. – The paint job is not a factory color or graphic (see pics). The paint color is called “Stormy Blue” and is a two tone metallic paint that reflects different tones in sun light & shadow (I do have the paint code).

Everything on this bike has been set up equivalent to the OEM factory specs. The bike WAS built correctly with great attention to detail. It is not some backyard slapped together POS. Since the Engine & Transmission Drive Train have 2 year warranties on them (sitting at 19 months left from the purchase date), you can take the bike to any authorized S&S or Baker dealer in the country to take care of any issues that may arise during the warranty period on the engine & transmission (You obviously won’t find any Big Dog with a warranty anymore). And as a result, the motorcycle should give you joy for years to come if you take care of the routine maintenance as needed and follow the break in procedure. The bike has 9 miles on it now (plan on it having around 50 before delivery as I want to make sure everything is stable) and the engine will not be fully broken in until the 2500-3000 mile range is obtained. It will need its first service at the 500 mile mark. I do have a list of the routine maintenance schedules as well as the factory repair manuals if you plan on doing the work yourself. Or it can be serviced at any Big Dog dealership or service center just like any other Big Dog.

IMPORTANT NOTE: At this time the front end on the bike is “USED”. I am pricing the bike with the intent of changing out the front end before delivery to a “NEW” unit. The guy that contracted me build the bike provided me this front end to install, and due to the recent change of plans I am going to swap the front end out so EVERYTHING on this bike is new. I do not have a schedule to do this project yet, but when a serious buyer steps forward, I can get it worked in & have it done in about 5-7 days from the commitment to purchase & pick up.

TITLE & TAGS: The bike will come with 3 MSO Certificates to provide your state to issue your title. At risk over complicating this explanation; the MSO sheets are simply titles for the engine, transmission & frame (the frame MSO will have the VIN number on it that will be on the title when your state mails it to you. NOTE that the frame is already stamped with the VIN number and is ready to go). The only extra step is that you will do is to take the bike to your local Highway inspection office so they can check the bike over and give you the clearance to take the paperwork to the tag office to get the tags & title. The inspection process is very simple. In my state it costs $10 and takes about 30 minutes. All they are looking for is that signals work, brake lights, horn, speedometer, high/low beam, etc… Some states get a little more picky about seat height & reflectors, etc, but this bike was built to spec and will pass any state inspection. It is much easier than it sounds and the only reason I am not planning on doing it myself before the sale is that I will have to pay the sales tax when I go to the tag office and then turn around and sell the bike to someone that will just have to pay taxes AGAIN in their state… if it is a concern, we can discuss the option of me getting the inspection done here in Kansas & getting the title, BUT the taxes, insurance & tags will be paid for BY THE BUYER. It is just a waste of money given the simplicity of the process…. We can discuss in more detail if necessary…. If you have further questions, let me know. Thanks.

UPDATE FROM LAST AUCTION: This bike WILL come with a clear state title and not MSO's sheets (please read auction for more details)

TITLE & TAGS: The bike will come with a clear title that you can take directly to the DMV / Tag Office and get your tag & registration (No MSO's)... It will take 7-10 business days to have the title issued to you once the bike is sold to the winning bidder. The "Make" will appear as an ASV (not "Big Dog). The bike was built to Big Dog specifications with a larger motor and all OEM parts, but it was NOT built by the factory so the title will not reflect as such... The title will denote a "Wolf" model for the year "2013"... Insurance is actually less expensive on an ASV bike (all three of mine have been). Just email me if you have questions and I will be more than happy to discuss.. thanks
