Bimota Mantra description

1996 Bimota Mantra with custom paint (It was probably originally yellow and black). This Marconi design was first introduced in 1994 and is one of about 454 ever made. Ducati 900SS motor (dry clutch which makes a rattling sound that alarms people with no clue), recent servicing includes new batteries, starter, solenoid, valve adjust, regulator and then bike has been garaged ever since because I have no one to ride with post-divorce. Runs. Owned by a sedate non-wheelie-ing female. I'm tired of dusting, starting and battery tending this bike, plus if something goes wrong I am hours away from a Ducati shop. Please note: these images are copyrighted -- don't be downloading them to your blog or wherever. Reserve is substantially lower than KBB.

1. Yes I have clear title
2. I have never crashed or dropped this bike.

Bimota to Miss Remainder of WSBK Season

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

Bimota has failed to meet the World Superbike Championship‘s homologation requirements and will not be allowed to participate in the rest of the 2014 season. Bimota had been under probation where it was allowed to race but would not receive any championship points for its efforts, until it could produce 125 street legal examples of its BB3 superbike. The probationary period has now ended and Bimota has informed series promoter Dorna and the FIM that it has not met the 125-unit minimum required for homologation.

Bimota Passes WSBK Homologation Inspection

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Bimota has been given the okay to race in the 2014 World Superbike Championship after a visit from representatives from the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and WSBK promoter Dorna. Bimota and its racing partner Team Alstare will be allowed to race in the championship immediately, starting with this weekend’s round at Spain’s Aragon circuit. The manufacturer opened the doors to its factory in Rimini, Italy, to Charles Hennekam, FIM technical coordinator and motorcycle homologation officer, and Gregorio Lavilla, Dorna WSBK sporting director.

Zero-mile Bimota V-Due on eBay

Wed, 04 Aug 2010

A RARE opportunity to snap up a zero-mile Bimota V-Due two-stroke race replica has come up for grabs on eBay. Launched in 1997, the V-Due was fitted with a 500cc, liquid-cooled, two-stroke, fuel-injected v-twin engine. It was the first time Bimota built an engine in-house, instead of sourcing engines from existing bike manufacturers.
