Ducati Monster description

I am offering an excellent example of the rare Ducati Monster S2R 1000. This bike has been well looked after and lots of work has gone into getting it sorted. Lots of tasteful upgrades and recent maintenance including:

- Full timing belt and valve adjustment service less than 600 miles ago
- Engine oil and brake / clutch fluids done at the same time
- Brand new OEM coated tank last summer
- Speedymoto top triple clamp with clip-on bars
- Rizoma bar end mirrors
- CRG levers
- Rizoma timing belt and clutch covers
- Rizoma adjustable rear sets
- Titanium Arrow exhaust system
- Michelin Pilot Power tires with ~1000 miles on them
- New clutch with lightweight flywheel
- Rizoma brake and clutch reservoirs
- Comes with the RED KEY and a spare standard key

Cosmetically it's nearly perfect with just one small shallow scratch on the tail. The common flat spot in the 3000-4000rpm area has been smoothed out so power delivery is fantastic, but occasionally the check engine light illuminates due to the oxygen sensor being bypassed when the Arrow exhaust was installed. This is reversible but since it makes no difference to performance I never bothered.

I can include the original headlight fairing and passenger pegs if the buyer would like to have them.

This is a very nicely sorted bike. It's a blast to ride, it sounds great and it gets lots of attention. It's ready to ride anywhere and genuinely needs nothing other than a new owner. I have a clean title in hand ready to go.

Bernhard Gobmeier Replaces Filippo Preziosi as Head of Ducati Corse

Tue, 20 Nov 2012

Ducati has named Bernhard Gobmeier the new general manager of Ducati Corse, handing the former BMW Superbike racing director the reins to the company’s racing program. Gobmeier replaces Filippo Preziosi (pictured above) who will be reassigned to the post of director of research and development for Ducati, shifting his focus from racing to developing new products. The personnel change carries two storylines.

Anti clockwise Knockhill and riding in the North East with GP winners.

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

I was both nervous and excited for my first ever reverse direction track day last week at Knockhill. From rushing downhill into the left hand off camber hairpin to sweeping up onto the start/finish, nothing bears any resemblance to riding round clockwise. I actually raced my 350LC in the opposite direction in 1982 but it still took a few laps to get my head round what essentially is a brand new track for Scotland.
