Report: Ducati to Introduce Three 820cc Models at EICMA
Fri, 21 Sep 2012Ducati will introduce three new models built around an 820cc platform at the 2012 EICMA show, reports French site Moto-Station. Moto-Station reports the three new models will be a Multistrada 820, a Hypermotard 820 and an as-yet unnamed roadster. Over the last couple of months, spy photos of a new mid-sized Ducati model has been making the rounds, with many people claiming it will be a new liquid-cooled Hypermotard while others, like our own Kevin Duke, believe the new model would be a Multistrada.
Zero Enters South American Market
Wed, 28 Sep 2011Zero Motorcycles has signed a distribution deal with the Brazilian dealer network Grupo Izzo, bringing its electric motorcycles to first Brazil, and soon across South America. Brazil is one of the world’s fastest growing markets for motorcycles, a market Zero hopes to tap with its new distribution deal. Grupo Izzo is based mainly in Brazil with 11 locations, but has plans to expand into other South American countries.
Effenbert-Liberty Withdraws from Superstock 1000 Cup – Two Less Ducati 1199 Panigales in Competition
Fri, 16 Mar 2012Mere days after promoting racer Brett McCormick to its World Superbike team, Effenbert-Liberty Racing has announced its withdrawal from the Superstock 1000 Cup. Effenbert-Liberty was one of the higher-profile teams that were planning to compete in the Superstock 1000 Cup on the Ducati 1199 Panigale. Until this week, the team had planned to field McCormick and Federico Sandi in the Superstock series alongside its three-man WSBK team of Sylvain Guintoli, Jakub Smrz and Maxime Berger on the Ducati 1198.
