Harley-Davidson FXR description

Up for grabs is my 1983 FXRT. This is the first year of the FXRT and the ONLY year of Shovelhead FXRT's.  This is a great running bike that is all original as far as I know.  This bike has been well kept its whole life.  The tires are good.  The paint is fair (especially for original paint).  Jump on it and ride it anywhere.  Garage kept the entire time I've owned it (past 2 years).  NC Title in hand (yes, it is 100% Harley titled).

The only negatives are a small crack in one of the hard-bags, a crack in the windshield and the radio is missing.  The hard-bags are known to crack from what I've been told.  I've also been told that someone who is good with fiberglass and resin could fix the crack pretty easily.  The windshield is still sturdy and totally usable but it does have a crack that is not fixable as far as I know.  The radio was removed because it did not have all of the clips it needed to be stable and I was concerned that the shaking would crack the fairing.  You can buy a used radio to replace it with if you so choose.

The bike is sold as is where is.  I am located in Wake Forest, NC.  I can keep the bike for a few weeks after the sale if need be.  Shipping must be arranged by buyer.

Deposit ($500) must be made within 48 hours of close of auction.  Payment in full must be made within 7 days of auction close.  I WILL NOT accept PayPal for the final payment - cashier's check, money order, wire transfer or CASH only please.

YES, this is being re-listed because the "winner" of the last auction had dreams bigger than his wallet.

If you have any questions please let me know.

EBR Nation Part 3: Made In America

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.
