2002 Harley-Davidson Road King CUSTOM, 2002 HD Road King. I've owned the bike since 2003, when I purchased it with 5,000 miles. Original owner preferred a Honda. 27,500 miles total, with 22,500 being miles I rode over ten years. Looks great, runs great, and is a good dependable ride. It's a cruiser, and rides well on the road. A few out of state trips - New Mexico, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas. A small amount of riding around north Texas. I keep it garaged. Hardly ever ride it. I have some oils, and other items that go with it. No radio. Has cruise control, windshield, saddlebags, back rests, 5 speed, V Twin 88/1450, about 750 lbs. When in Rome for Harley’s 110th
Mon, 03 Jun 2013In addition to all the other goings-on scheduled for Harley-Davidson’s 110th celebration in Rome, Italy, Pirelli and LowRide magazine are teaming up to bring Italian Motor Company enthusiasts even more. During the June 13-16 celebration Pirelli is setting up shop at Lido di Ostia, transforming the Rome Nautical Club in to the Pirelli Clubhouse for this occasion. Guests at the Pirelli Clubhouse can attend tattooing sessions, where images created by Fashion Tattoo Studio will be imprinted on a range of tires. For those who want to try the thrills of driving a racing car through iconic racetracks around the world, the Formula 1 simulator will be available throughout the four-day celebration. Also on show is the new summer collection of Pzero clothing. Pirelli technicians will hold product workshops illustrating the importance of tires on custom motorcycles.

The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
