Harley-Davidson Softail description

This bike is all set and ready to go. With 540 miles on it it's not even broken in. This bike is show room new having never seen rain. The build itself cost $14,000 over the list price of the bike new. The steer horns are easily removed.
Features include:
  • Limited edition/numbered paint set, flat black
  • Black front end kit
  • Lowered front and rear/shortened springs and shock
  • Black Ape Hanger handlebars with all new braided cables (internal wiring)
  • Under bar mirrors, custom levers and grips
  • Polished rotors (both ends)
  • Big Sucker intake
  • True Dual exhaust powder coated with chrome fish tails
  • Rear sprocket cover
  • Custom head bolt covers, horn cover, plug wires
  • Rear axle and pivot bolt covers, trim rings on all lights
  • Old School bicycle style spring seat
  • Bicycle style hand grips
  • Black belt guards
  • Shift linkage
  • Floorboard, shifter pegs and brake pad

In the build, bike was disassembled and the following parts were sent to Indy Powder Coating:

  • Heat shields from head pipes
  • Mufflers (except tips)
  • Headlight shell (not the ring)
  • Passing lamp bar and buckets (no rings)
  • Rear turn signal housings and bar
  • Front turn signal mounts and housings
  • Upper fork cans
  • Lower fork legs
  • Side fork covers
  • Top fork covers
  • Upper front fork cover (behind headlight)

To add effect, this blacked out beauty is topped off with a custom weathered mail bag and the 3 1/2 ft Texas steer horns. Bike was sent to Mastertune to be dyno tuned.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q2 2013 Results

Harley-Davidson reported a net profit of $271.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, up from the profit of $247.3 million reported in the same period in 2012. For the first half of 2013, Harley-Davidson has recorded $495.9 million in profit, compared to $419.3 million reported in the opening six months last year. “Harley-Davidson again drove strong financial performance in the second quarter, reflecting the many improvements in operations we have made throughout the Company over the past few years as well as our brand strength globally,” says Keith Wandell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.

Storm Tears Facade Off Colorado Harley-Davidson Dealership

A Harley-Davidson dealership in Pueblo, Colo., suffered some serious damage after heavy winds from a spring storm ripped off the wall of the dealership’s second floor. The 34,000 square-foot Outpost Harley-Davidson dealership on I-25 in Pueblo usually features a high front wall that sticks up above the building’s gable roof (see the “before” picture below). The damage occurred early in the morning and it’s not clear at this point if anyone was around when it happened.

Every year it seems that newspaper advertisements, radio and TV commercials for Christmas start earlier and earlier. As soon as the sun begins to set on Halloween, department stores begin packing shelves and websites start stocking inventory in preparation for the impending feeding frenzy that will occur for the most commercial of holidays next to valentine’s day. While spending the holiday with family normally keeps me blitzed off eggnog and most of these aforementioned advertisements are enough to make me want to book a cruise for an entire fortnight at the end of December, this one commercial for Harley-Davidson made me laugh.
