Harley-Davidson Touring description

1986 Harley-Davidson FLTHC Custom. Number 88/650

I am the second owner of this motorcycle that was purchased new in 1986 by Forbes Inc and ridden by Malcolm Forbes. All original purchase paperwork is available and will be included in the final sale.

Rebuilt in March 2009  at 51070 miles, this motorcycle has full service records from new. The rebuild included a fully rebuilt engine from the crank up, including Andrews EV27 Cam and Screaming Eagle Heads, and adjustable lifters by a local HD Dealer (this was  not a factory rebuild) Other upgrades include a RevTech 6 speed conversion.  The bike is currently running the stock carb and air cleaner assembly as it was recently displayed at the Vintage Motorcycle Rally in Anamosa, IA, where it took second place for it's division. The S&S Shorty E carb will be included in the final sale.

Current condition would be good to very good. Need to be seen to appreciate the condition.

The bike was repainted at the rebuild in the original color scheme, with the swingarm bushings being replaced with synthetic Sta-Bo bushing (this was a frame up restoration). There are many other extras that have been added and it is a strong reliable bike.

This is a rare bike with a unique history and I will provide any further information that you require.

Serious bidders only.

A deposit of $500 is due within 48hrs of end of Auction by PayPal and the balance must be paid within 7 days by cash or cashiers check. I will release the bike once the funds have cleared.

Buyer is responsible for shipping and any costs involved.

Please ask any question before placing a bid.

Selling the bike as I need the funds for a home repair.

Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary Party Is Just A Week Away

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Harley-Davidson has been preparing for its 110th anniversary party for the past year, celebrating in 11 countries on six different continents. In the past year, Harley-Davidson employees, dealers and riders have shared thousands of amazing experiences, including a ride through the Tibetan Plateau in China, a parade along the beaches of Sao Paulo and even a Papal blessing. But now the party is coming home to Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend, which promises to be the biggest celebration of them all.  Milwaukee residents have always been cordial hosts for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts who make the journey to the City of Festivals from around the world. One Anniversary tradition is the welcoming home of thousands of riders by Milwaukee area residents who stand on the city’s highway overpasses with homemade welcome signs as riders arrive in Milwaukee.

Pope Francis To Auction Harley-Davidson For Charity

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

During Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary celebrations earlier this year, Pope Francis was given not one, but two Harley-Davidsons, a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic and Dyna Super Glide Custom. Not one for gaudy excess (or a motorcycle ride for that matter), Pope Francis has decided to put both up for auction. Specifically, the Pope has donated the bikes to the Caritas charity near Rome.
