Harley-Davidson Touring description

One very adult owner (76 yrs old). Selling for health reasons.  Purchased at local dealer.  Every winter was in heated storage + covered. Original purchase price $18,871.25.  Bike serviced every 3,000 miles, last serviced 100 miles ago. Has new plugs, air + oil filter and new throttle cables. All service work genuine HD. Rear tire was replaced 10k miles ago and front tire replaced 200 miles ago.  Bike has security system, six speeds, cruise control, rear back rest and sissy bar and pad and carry rack.  Seat replaced with a flatter seat but original seat in excellent condition is included. Full size cover. All parts genuine HD...no aftermarket parts. As noted the one saddlebag has a slight mar (line) on top from woman's high heel. This did not cut the leather or even roughen it but did leave a slight "line" visible.  This machine has never been in any accident and never been laid over or dropped. Also comes with owner's manual and HD technical literature list.  A beautiful machine that has been well taken care of and will provide much riding pleasure.

A shipping container holding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Japanese plates was discovered on a beach in British Columbia, Canada. The container, which appears to be the cargo area of a box truck, is believed to be one of the first notable pieces of debris set adrift by the 2011 Japanese tsunami to land in North America. Beachcomber Peter Mark discovered the containerwhile riding his ATV along an isolated beach on Graham Island, an island south of the Alaskan Panhandle.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
