Honda CL description

I bought this bike last fall as a project bike. It had been sitting singe the early 90's. Tank had some rust and it showed signs of sitting. I stripped it to nothing and the bike is all new. Tank was cleared of rust and coated with Redkote. Almost every black part on the bike was professionally powder coated and wheels were laced up with new spokes. Tank was professionally painted as well. There is one tiny dent in the top that wasn't noticed until after paint. Exhaust is wrapped for a better look. I stripped a lot of unnecessary parts in the build. Frame was de-tabbed and added a loop on the rear. No signals, tack or speedo. I do have a gps run speedo mounted on the bars that goes with the bike. Front plate is off a crf110 and cut a hole with a small motorcycle headlight mounted. Tail light is a very bright LED strip light. The seat came from dime city cycles. I have a small antigravity battery mounted under the seat along with most of the wiring. I do have a starter button mounted behind the front plate but the small battery won't crank it. Starts right up kicking it.

Bike had 6600 miles when I got it and I've only put a few hundred on it. Cylinders were at 175psi on one side and 172psi on the other. I installed a new petcock and new Mikuni VM30 carbs. New throttle cables and all new gas lines and hoses. Cleaned the motor up as much as possible and powder coated the outer covers. New plugs and exhaust gaskets as well. The forks had some pitting but I filled them and rebuilt them with new seals. The pits are still visible as little black dots but no oil leaks past the seals.

Every bearing on the bike was replaced. New bushings in the hub for the sprocket mount. New tires, tubes, chain, sprockets, shocks, mufflers, bars, controls, ground wire and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Carbs are tuned in as close as possible without a dyno run. Lots of hours and money into this bike and hate to sell it but I'm building a shop at the house and need the money. Send a message if you have any questions.

2013 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show Report

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

The 22nd edition of the annual LA Calendar Motorcycle Show marked its return to the Queen Mary Seawalk Village in Long Beach, California with hometown boy Sam Baldi taking the Bike Building Championship’s Best of Show trophy with a Jimmy Todorovith/Profile Cycles built Big Twin custom named “Lost Angel.” This year’s Calendar Show showcased not only top builders but selected vendors and exhibitors, and of course the Calendar Girl Music live performances. And as always, this year’s show celebrated the world premiere of the 2014 FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, featuring the world’s top SBK World Superbikes, sport and cafe bikes, and custom motorcycles with the beautiful Calendar Kittens. On hand throughout the day to meet with fans and pose for pictures were Calendar Kittens Apple Price, together with official SBK World Superbike grid girls Jessica Harbour and singer/songwriter Sarah Horvath.

Stocking filler suggestion: 3

Before going out on my high-powered motorcycle I always like to make sure that I'm wearing clean boxers with good elastic. Having once been admitted to A&E in a tatty pair of shreddies that weren't only on inside out (improved mileage) but were also on back to front (got dressed in the dark) and - if that wasn't already embarrassing enough - the elastic in the waistband had gone, too. Deep shame. To avoid any similar thunder-pant faux-pas, Red Torpedo have decided to run a Christmas offer so that everyone can get a pair of funky Crawford pants in a tin to put in their stocking as well as a "pick your own" brand new PRIMO quality t-shirt all for £25 - a festive saving of ten, whole English pounds.

WSBK: 2012 Phillip Island Results – Video

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Max Biaggi won the opening race to the 2012 World Superbike Championship while defending champion Carlos Checa came back from a high-speed crash in the first race to win the second at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. Reigning champion Checa of Althea Ducati had a stunning high-side crash while leading on the sixth lap of Race One. The WSBK paddock was already in shock with the death of 17-year-old Oscar McIntyre in the Superstock 600 race the day before but thankfully Checa was not seriously injured.
