Honda CL description

Up for sale is my super-low mile 1968 Honda CL450 Scrambler. I got this bike about 2 years ago from a good friend of mine. It had sat in a Florida carport for almost 45 years where it's original owner had parked it. I got it with 1,298 miles and stored it away until I could remove the covers and check/clean the oil filter, replace the clutch with factory plates, and polish the covers. The bike now has 1,457 original miles.

The internals were in beautiful shape, the paint and large chrome parts were showing the effects of storage. I had the original Honda Blue perfectly matched with 2-stage urethane (DuPont Chromabase) and repainted by my favorite painter, then all large chrome was sent to Ronnie at Brown's Plating in Kentucky for his magic. Those parts plated includ both fenders, both rims, and the exhaust heat shields. The seat cover is 100% original. I removed it and beadblasted the pan before powdercoating for a rust-proof seal and installed the original cover back onto the pan. I cleaned and replaced all carburetor internals with new OEM parts. I installed a Pemco electronic trigger that replaces the contact points. This unit is hidden perfectly under the points cover looking factory and providing adjustment-free service. The bike has spokes, brakes, new tires, tubes, seals, sealed AGM battery, and every light, signal, horn, starter, and working thing "works" as new. The left tank badge is NOS, the right one is Honda OEM replacement. These round-badge models were only made for about 7 months before the striped K1 tanks came out in the same year model for both the CB and CL. These are hard to find and of course are side specific.

This is for sale where is, as is. These photos tell the whole story - you get what you see. I have this for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I do not have a loading dock and I do not offer crating services. Please take that into account when you arrange your shipper.

Good luck on your bidding. This bike will not dissapoint.
