Hey folks, it’s Dennis here, Motorcycle.com‘s Designated Newbie. As documented in our Motorcycle Beginner articles (and if you haven’t read them yet, check out the Related Reading links below!) we’re taking a look at the new rider experience and what it means to be a motorcyclist. Honda’s V-4 History

As Honda prepares its new VFR1200 for its official unveiling, the red-wing company has set up a website detailing its long involvement in V-4 engines. It began back in 1979 with the introduction of the NR500 grand prix racebike. Rather than fielding a 500cc two-stroke engine, Honda used a four-stroke oval-piston V-4 motor – essentially a V-8 with four cylinders that could be revved to 19,500 rpm!

2015 Honda COTA 4RT260 Trials Bikes Announced

American Honda surprised almost everybody when it announced it would offer a trials bike earlier this year. The Repsol-colored 2014 Montesa Honda COTA 4RT was only offered in limited numbers for the U.S. market, but if you missed out on that initial batch, there’s good news, as Honda will again offer it in 2015, with some new updates.
