Honda Gold Wing description

1985 Honda Gold Wing 1200, I have three bikes and one must go so this is the one. Essentially a one owner bike as I bought it from owner two who knew owner one and the bike since new. Only 34XXX miles and always kept stored properly. Garaged and/or covered. Rides very smooth and comfortable at 70-80 mph. Clearly a world class touring bike. Everything works except the trip meter and gear position indicator. There may be some dust in the radio tone knob as well as it scratches sometimes when adjusting. Newer tires and battery, all inside bags and tool kit and owners manual complete. I have two other Honda factory service manuals as well. Icluded in sale is two covers, one full and one half cover for top. Extras include the Drag Specialties Wing Commander side covers. Lighted front disc brake covers and rear luggage lights. Mechanically bike is perfect and air ride holds air forever when sitting. Has connection for battery tender too. Paint is perfect except for small scuff on left trim near mirror ( see photo) about an inch long where it fell off the stand at some point. Windshield is absolutely scratch free as seen in photos. There is small normal corrosion on right side of motor and some pitting on the Drag Specialties tank bezel. If you are looking for a great collectible Gold Wing, this is the one. I am told that only 5,000 were made with fuel injection this year. email or call Tom 561 215-0678 with questions or for more photos $3,500.00 I can deliver anywhere south of Daytona Beach/Orlando Florida for small fee.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.

Mick Doohan NSR500 art sculpture

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

How do you best immortalise the great Mick Doohan and the big bang Honda NSR500 with which he dominated Grand Prix racing in the 90s? An Australian artist has answered this by creating an art installation that sees a hand-created replica of the bike exploded and suspended from the ceiling. The Doohan piece is appropriately titled 'The Big Bang' and as artist Eamon O'Tootle describes, "It is a complex sculpture comprising thousands of parts joining to make up a whole and symbolic tribute to the true inherent nature of art and sport – the creativity of design, where the mechanical is modified to suit the needs of man." Eamon added: "The way the Doohan piece came about was that one of the bikes Mick rode had an engine configuration called the Big Bang.
