Honda Magna description

I have for sale my 98 Honda Magna 750. This is a beautiful motorcycle and is a 4 cylinder (notice the 4 exhaust pipes!!) so it is very powerful for a 750cc bike. Everything about this bike is in great shape and it runs and shifts perfectly. Under 14k miles. It is missing the black plastic side panel on the right side - this can be purchased from Bikebandits website for 100 dollars. Bike comes with windshield (removable), saddlebags (easy to zip on and off for quick removal, toolkit, and a helmet if you want it. I also bought a jet kit to re-jet the carbs but never got around to doing it, so I can also include the kit with the sale as well.  The Jet Kit is intended to be installed if the exhaust baffles are removed for added performance and louder sound.  Feel free to contact me anytime through ebay with questions or to come look at the bike. Bike is in stock condition and for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to local sale.

The 'Power Cruisers' category that had been occupied by the Kawasaki Eliminators and the Yamaha V-Max, (as well as the 1980's Magna's), was bolstered in 1993 with the Magna 750. As an early release 1994 model, Honda sought to capture the market for powerful cruisers by lifting the engine from the VFR750 and slotting it in a cruiser chassis. The engine itself was beautified by the addition of chrome and some extra fins, and by the chromed 4 into 4 exhaust. The seat was kept very low, at 28 inches, with the passenger seat being detachable. The all new frame was complemented by 41mm forks, dual shocks, and a single disc on the front. A drum brake was used on the rear. A few internal changes were made to the VFR engine for use in the Magna, including a different crankshaft, a 5 speed transmission and chain driven cams. Smaller carbs were also utilized. The changes resulted in a stronger mid-range pull, and a very broad band of power. Power is 78.2bhp@9000rpm, with torque of 48.2ft/lb's@7250rpm.

Remember push starts?

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Alongside the most stunning collection of race and road bikes at their Motegi museum, next to some race bikes, Honda also has a step by step guide on most aspects of riding. I photographed the wonderful text on push starting but I also have lots of equally hilarious instructions on cornering braking and even what a riders goal should be. Watch this space...... oh, and hopefully see you at the NEC over the next ten days!

Ben Bostrom Events

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Ex-racer Ben Bostrum might have stopped competing on motorcycles, but he hasn't given up his passion for two wheels. He's teamed up with motorsports promoter M1 to create Ben Bostrom Events, a company that plans to host world-class cycling and running races across the US. According to a press release, the high-intensity events will feature an 'entertainment-filled atmosphere', combining many of the familiar elements found at other MOB (mud, obstacles, beer) racing events.

Honda Likes to Dress Up

Fri, 31 Oct 2008

Who doesn’t love Halloween? Well my neighbor down the street who turns off all his lights and flips the sprinklers on for Halloween night doesn’t, but he’s a jerk. Honda was in a Halloween spirit when they came up with this ad campaign consisting of some of their rides “dressed” in ridiculous outfits.
