Did we see the future of World Superbike racing last weekend at the BSB event? Possibly, but only if everyone is on Evo spec machines in 2012. By setting the 2nd fastest lap in race one and running second for a while in race two, the brilliant Alex Lowes proved that with a good grid position an Evo spec machine can be competitive for part race distance at least.

2014 Honda CB1100 Announced

The Honda CB1100 has only been available here in North America for a year, but for 2014, the retro-styled standard is already getting an update. That’s because the CB1100 has been around for a bit longer overseas, and for nearly everywhere but here, it’s ripe for a modest refresh. For 2014, Honda is replacing the previous version’s five-speed transmission with a six-speed gearbox.

Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has broken his right fibula in a dirt-track training session. Marquez, who had a remarkable 2013 campaign to win the MotoGP title as a rookie, will need up to a month to recover, which should just about make him available for the 2014 season opener March 23 in Qatar. The Repsol Honda rider was brought to the Hospital Universitari Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona, Spain, for examiniation by Dr.
