Honda Z50R description

Very cool vintage customized 1984 Honda Z50R. I switched the motor to a much more powerful Lifan 125 4-speed manual shift motor. also added a headlight and taillight, painted the wheels gold, recovered the seat with red plaid cloth. it is a very fun little bike. I wanted to build something similar to the Japanese Monkey bikes. the motor is pretty much brand new. It has less then 5 miles on it, it still has the break-in oil. because there are not many places in the city you can really ride this. this is a fast bike so probably not the best for a child. but it is very fun and can pull a full sized adult. it could use some tuning. it runs and idles good, and will get you around. but its hitting a wall in the mid range. It didn't do this when I first put the motor on. it might just need a new spark plug, probably something simple. also the lights did work for a short period of time, but they stopped, and i never tried to address it. so the bike would need a little tinkering if you want it to be perfect. frame and components are in good shape. tank is clean, no pin holes or anything. small dents and wear, nothing major. tires hold air good. the drive chain is new. I really don't want to sell this bike but I need to fund another project. I do not have a Title for it.

British motorcycle design studio Xenophya Design and product designer Ellis Pitt have teamed up to produce a new company, Mac Motorcycles. Based out of Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, England, Mac Motorcycles will produce a line of bikes powered by Buell’s air-cooled single cylinder 492cc engines used in the Blast, with a tubular backbone frame. On the company’s website, Pitt describes its bikes as being simple to maintain, include references and details from choppers and bobbers and feature “Harley posture, flat-track manners, Ducati handling”.

Karel Abraham to Ride Honda Production Racer for 2014 MotoGP season

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

MotoGP team Cardion AB announced it plans to field rider Karel Abraham in the 2014 Championship on Honda‘s new RC213V-based production racer. Cardion AB becomes the second MotoGP team to select Honda’s production racer. The Gresini Racing team will also use the Honda machine, which is no surprise considering the team’s history with Honda prototypes.

Gresini Unveils 2012 MotoGP and Moto3 Honda Race Bikes

Tue, 13 Mar 2012

Last season, Alvaro Bautista rode on one of the best looking motorcycles on the MotoGP grid, the Suzuki GSV-R in Rizla powder blue livery by Troy Lee Designs. This season, Bautista is riding the Gresini Honda RC213V, but instead of its previous white paint job, the Gresini machine is in a sleek black. No reason for the color change was announced, though it’s possible the choice is a sign of mourning for the late Marco Simoncelli whose place Bautista is assuming with Gresini.
