Kawasaki KLR tech info
Kawasaki KLR description
This is the bike I learned on. I used to commute to work on it but you have to keep the carbs in TOP condition at ALL times to ride in the winter as a commuter. When I'm dressed in a suit, I don't have time to mess with kick start a 22oF. lol. 60oF and up you should be fine or just do a carb rebuild and possibly be ok all year. You will have to do a carb cleaning anyway.
I parked this bike running but let it sit outside for years without doing any maintenance. This means you will have to refresh it before using it. You will need to do: Clean and possibly replace all fuel lines Clean carb New plugs Clean tank Replace the signal lights and stalks New chain New battery possible (check first) That should get her up and running like new again but that is just my guess. I've never done a restoration like this. I do know these mechanical are kind of bulletproof and were used by the army. It's too simple to require much to get going again. I'd LOVE to do the rebuild myself, BUT I just lost my job and this money is for my rent while I look for another job. |
