Kawasaki Other description

1977 Kawasaki KZ 1000 with 28 k miles and a clear title. This bike was a former 1/4 mile track sprint bike. I had to put over $1,000  into this bike to bring it up to being street legal and riding sound for daily use. I've had the bike for a two years and made some improvements, repairs & modifications, I'm not the original owner. Bike was originally modified before I bought it. Bike has 34 MM Mikuni Smooth bore racing carbs on here which makes the bike idle high as compared to a normal motorcycle,  the needles are still turned up high. Also has vance and hines 4 into 1 headers, both of these give this motorcycle an additonal 30 - 35 horsepower, and also has K&N air filters added for additional horsepower. Has a Katana rear rim and tire with an extended swing arm, so it's fatter and slightly longer than what you'll see on a stock kz 1000 of this timeframe and makes it better for straight line speed. Has new front fork seals and a new front end. The steering was adjusted and softened up so it could be ridden as a daily driver january 2013. Has a brand new battery as of thursday sep 19, 2013. The carbs have been cleaned and gone through and has brand new fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel splitter for the carbs, petcock and gas tank as of sep 19, 2013. Has brand new aluminum braided oil lines which should last the lifetime of this bike installed january 2013, and also has an oil cooler. All work was done by mid south motoplex and motorcycle carbs. The buyer of this bike may want to install slightly smaller fuel lines from the tank to the carbs, but this should only be a $10 dollar change. I had the original size fuel lines put on, but bike may perform better with slightly smaller lines.
Just had the engine gasket stator replaced and resealed on thursday sep 19, 2013. This motorcycle has no oil leaks whatsoever. Still needs an oil change though, but I have put alot of money into this bike, Ill allow the buyer to change the oil and make any changes they want to it from this point on.
All electrical works, speedometer and tachometer work and tires have about 75% tread. The paint job was custom by the guy I bought it off, overall it's in very good condition for it's age, the paint job has some good scratches on the right side of the gas tank and the front edge of the tank where it close to the bike frame, the left side stator cover is scratched good too. Ive never dropped this bike while owning it. Other than that the paint job is good and all chrome and metal is in good condition. Bike has the kickstand but does not have the centerstand, bike also has a working kickstart which I thought was pretty cool and old school.
I'm Firm on the price as I wanna just try to get some of my money back. This bike is a good daily driver now, It is very fast street light to street light and fun to ride. This bike is not a good choice to take to run circles around a race track with a bunch of turns, and it's not a smooth throttle, calm, easy riding motorcycle. It's very touchy off the light, you'll shoot right off the line or right off from the green light, so it's a good choice for someone looking for a classic motorcycle that is very fast and looks cool and won't break your wallet. It has a crushed velvet seat as well on this bike, seat lifts up on one side like normal but does not lock down, if you are handy you could get it to lock down. When custom seat was put on, this was the result. Just trying to be honest and list absolutely everything on this bike. Email me with any questions before bidding. Payment is $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of sale of bike and the additional balance within 72 hours of sale of bike. You must arrange for your own shipping and pay for your own shipping if not picking it up local. If picking it up local, payment must still be made on payment schedule. I will hold for a few additional weeks until you can arrange shipping or pick up if not possible right away. Will send title separately so the shipper can't drive away with your bike and title.

A Dizzying Lap Of Imola + Video

Wed, 14 May 2014

Nilox, the action camera sponsor for World Superbike, makes it a point to film an on-board lap of each track on the calendar before each race weekend. A few weeks ago we brought you footage of Giuliano Rovelli lapping a Honda CBR1000RR SP around Assen. This week Rovelli is back, this time aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R, giving us a rapid tour of Imola, the track made famous by the tragic passing of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna 20 years ago, and also by the legendary battle between Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards in 2002 which decided the championship.
