Hard to find 1978 Kawasaki Z1R, Kawasaki's entry into the Superbike war of 1978. Good running, well kept bike. Bike was painted black sometime in the 1980's and the stripe kit to duplicate the 1980 Z1R paint job was added later. There are small nicks and dings but is still shiny and presentable. Seat is cover is a very nice newer duplicate. Exhaust is a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 that's a few years old and in very good condition. Not real loud but has a nice sound. Bike runs good, tank is clean inside and it has no oil or gas leaks. Tires are older but serviceable. Original kickstarter lever that belongs under the seat is gone and stock windshield was replaced 2 years ago. Have the little chrome cover that goes over the seat lock but the spring is missing. Fresh oil change and new battery. Everything works but the fuel gauge. Overall a good rider quality bike or a good candidate for full restoration. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The Real "screamer": Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R
Wed, 05 Aug 2020It seemed that the glorious times of the tiny "fours" - 250cc sportbikes with boosted engines to almost 50 hp are long gone. But the Indonesian branch of the Kawasaki enterprise resurrected this breed! The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R sportbike with a 51hp at 15,500 rpm four-cylinder engine is entering the local market, as well as the markets of some other countries of the Far East, including Japan.
2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Spied in Norway
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Spy photographers have captured images in Norway from a video shoot for what appears to be an updated Kawasaki Ninja 1000. The images show two riders on an updated Ninja 1000 (or Z1000SX, as the bike is known in Europe). The saddlebags indicate this is the Z1000SX Touring variant offered in Europe, but the rest of the motorcycle is otherwise similar to the Ninja 1000 (which, by and by, won our 2011 Gentleman Sportbike Shootout over the Suzuki GSX1250FA and Yamaha FZ1.) The new Ninja 1000 doesn’t look much different from the 2013 model, apart from the new paint job.
2014 AMA Supercross – Phoenix Results
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto nabbed a hard-earned first victory of the 2014 AMA Supercross season, overcoming a poor start that saw him ninth after the first lap for the win. The three-time reigning champion found himself well back after the first corner as Yoshimura Suzuki‘s Jake Moss took the holeshot ahead of Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton and the KTM‘s Ryan Dungey. Brayton took over the lead by the second corner and would stay in front for the first 13 laps.
