Kawasaki Other description

Selling my 1980 Kawasaki KZ650 which was converted into a cafe racer. I am selling because purchased the bike 2 years ago and it has been sitting in the corner of my garage for over a year not being used. It was converted before I purchased, but needed cosmetic work. Have clean NJ title in hand, The Odometer # is the add is not correct, it is not known, had to enter a # for ebay to allow listing

This is what I did:

Removed all the badging from the tank and side covers, painted the tank, front fender and side covers

Replaced the turn signals

Cleaned up the wiring

Painted the front tripple tree, painted the front brake reservoir and tachometer holder

Painted the exhaust as well

The good:

Clean lines

Nice paint

New tires

Dropped bars

Handlebar end mirrors

Airbox converted to K&N filters (told that jetting was done)

New seat with brake light embedded

Manual chain tightener

Kick stand and centerstand

Kerker 4 to 1 exhaust

New petcock (gravity type)

Newer chain

Brakes good

The bad:

Needs new battery (may have one by time it is sold, just need time to pick one up)

Use to start but takes a while, once running will start first/second time, carberators need to be cleaned and balanced. Should start just have to get a chance to try once I get new battery

Gas tank should be cleaned and coated

The previous owner installed the tachometer (don't know why), I purchased a speedo, but never got around to changing it out, speedo comes with the bike

Some scraping on the turn signal control (was planning to replace, just didn't get around to it)

Some scrapping on the lower part of engine

The bike is fun to ride, I just don't have time that is why I am selling, this bike should not sit, it deserves to be ridden.

The bike is being sold AS-IS, no warranty given or implied, it will also be listed locally and if sold I will be ending this auction

$250 non-refundable deposit due withing 24 hours of end of auction, rest paid in CASH when bike is picked up, will not release bike until fully paid!!!

Buyer is responsable for pickup and any shipping of bike!!!

WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.
