Kawasaki Other description

    Hello,

I bought this bike on ebay and am selling it now. I drove it for the past 4 years. I've had this model before and I like it but its time to downsize from my 8 vehicles, new spouse will only take so much. It has some nice features and I've done some upgrades to improve it's future life.

I bought it with 86000 miles on it and number 3 cylinder siezed after a month, so I replaced the engine with a different KZ1000 that had 25000 miles on it. I was upset with it siezing but the low mile used engine is nice.

I've also upgraded the chain and sproket to 530 which provide for greater longevity and easier and less expensive replacement as the OEM chain and sproket or not only much much more costly but they do not perform as efficiently, ask a moto tech.

An upgrade that was already installed when i purchased was the brakelight system. The orginal Brakelight works and there are two additional brake lights on the rear of the crash bars that wrap around the hard bags. It's a 200% increase in brakelighting.

OK, ....... the best stock feature. You can turn off the headlight and running lights and still drive. Cops would use this during a stealth pusuit.... it's cool having this feature, however it's suicidal to even contemplate using it with all the idiots that are on the road, but it can be argued that using the bike without lights is idiotic in and of itself.

Things that need repair, replacement, or fixing:

Center stand droops: It needs a new spring so I keep it bungeed, it is still operable.

Right hard bag needs new hinge, I keep it bungeed.

Right side cover missing, I've relocated the rectifier to that area

Windshield has poor visibility, I have yet to apply the compond that clears it up, I do have 2 spare windshields available.

I've just put reg on PNO last week

Bike is available for test riding and viewing if you happen to be in San Francisco. Bring an M1 license and proof of insurance that covers you for non-owned bike, or !800 cash deposit. I have a huge parking lot to test drive exclusive to me. I use the KZ to race around the lot while my dogs give chase.

I can deliver the bike in Ca for a fee. Or I'd be willing to drop bike off for free to a local shipper within San Francisco.  A drop off to a shipper outside San Francisco would require a fee. Best way to ask questions is via text. area code four one five seven nine four nine three five one. i'm not on the internet daily, more like twice a week if that.

Good luck with it.
