Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport(i) description

Excellent condition, owned by Moto Guzzi enthusiast.  Guzzisti's know this one is fuel-injected, with Marchesini wheels, Brembo brakes, and uprated WP (Belgian) suspension.  I believe I'm the third owner, having owned it for three years, during which time I've thoroughly enjoyed sorting it out, to be the bike that Mandello del Lario intended it to be.  One of Guzzi's first forays into fuel injection, the Sport(i) was known to have glitchy fueling.  So, I proceeded to have the bike dyno-tuned by one of the country's best-known tuners of Italian bikes, who created a custom chip specifically for this bike.  I replaced the OEM cam chain tensioner with a Stucchi piece, to eliminate the chain slack that often fools the bike's ECU.   My servicing has included all oils and filters, refreshed fuel injectors, replacement of all rubber lines, replaced wheel bearings, a new Odyssey battery (the best), and Michelin Road Pilots.  Moto Guzzi factory shop manual included.  All original except for Heli-bars (original clip-on's included) and carbon fiber rear hugger.  Surely one of the best-performing 1100 Sporti's available anywhere at any price, and surely destined to increase in value and collectability.  It's been a great bike though, as a 60+ year old rider, there are several bikes remaining on my bucket list before I hang up my helmet.  Will sell within the US only.

At the moment, North American customers usually have to wait a little longer before they receive new Piaggio models, with most models arriving on these shores months after they are available in Europe.

Ewan McGregor Stars in Ad Campaign for 2013 Moto Guzzi California 1400

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Considering how much his films “Long Way Round” and “Long Way Down” for popularizing the GS, you’d think Scottish actor Ewan McGregor was a BMW guy. His friend and co-star in those two travelogues, Charley Boorman is a BMW brand ambassador, and it’d be easy to assume McGregor is as well. The truth is McGregor, well known for his love of motorcycles, is a much bigger fan of Moto Guzzi.
