Moto Guzzi LeMans description

1983 Moto Guzzi Lemans III, A very special creation amongst the uncommon. Our seven year home remodel/restoration is finally done. I have chosen to focus my moto-hobby resources into my 911. So with a heavy heart, it is finally time to surrender my beautiful Guzzi. It was uniquely built by Charlie Rice at Rennsport, in Ojai California, to the first owners specifications. Showed at many west coast Guzzi events. Im the second owner (bought 1993). I enjoyed it tremendously for several years. Gets attention everywhere. Have only ridden 3 times in the last 12 years. 18,306 miles. Have title and registration is current. The two photos, with fairing attached, were taken right after my purchase. Remainder are from 2010 when I was first contemplating a sale. - Rennsport exhaust: 2-1-2, mufflers are like glass packs (unobtainable). Amazing sound -staccato basso profondo. Note some small scrapes and dings. - Mikuni slide valve carbs. - Dyna ignition. - Stock engine internals (as far as I know) - Adjustable forks, with hinged release for axle (unobtainable). - Telefix fork brace. - Adjustable rear suspension by Works - Bar ends with BMW grips. - Corbin seat. - Tank was etched and sealed inside right after my purchase (in Long Beach) - Custom hand made fairing. Blends the stock 3 parts into one as a Cafe style. It used a fabricated bracket that was not the best (see pics). Also functioned as fork stop. Single point weld at neck eventually gave up. I redesigned a much better design, just never got it welded up. To get everything just right, she needs some work: major service (mechanicals are solid), cosmetic detailing, fairing attach, front fender support . Im afraid that if I started fixing the items on the list, Id never let her go. Includes; Owners manual, service manuals (factory, Haynes, Mikuni). $3,250.00 - firm

Moto Guzzi Taking the Motorcycle Show Experience to Airports to Promote the California 1400

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

A pair of muscular-looking V-Twin cruisers sit on a dais in front of a dramatically lit backdrop as attractive female brand representatives greet guests, answer questions and pose for pictures. This scene is fairly commonplace at convention centers during the motorcycle show season, but Moto Guzzi is taking the scenario to a new location: airports. Moto Guzzi is bringing the motorcycle show experience to select airports in Europe to promote its new California 1400 models.

Piaggio Reports Q3 2012 Results

Thu, 01 Nov 2012

The Piaggio Group reported a 9.1% decrease in net sales over the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, thanks in large part to a strong decline in the European market for two-wheelers. According to Piaggio‘s third quarter 2012 report, the Italian manufacturer recorded 706.3 million euros (US$913.8 million) in motorcycle and scooter sales, compared to 777.2 million in sales over the same period of 2011. The Piaggio Group, which also includes the brands Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa and other brands, sold 321,300 motorcycles and scooters in the first nine months of 2012, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5% from 2011.
