Here's a quick video I took of the bike starting. The owners manual calls for a 60:1 fuel/oil mixture but I mixed it 45:1 so it's smoking a little more than normal.
1995 ATK 260 LQ
Street Legal
Less than 10 total hours since new!
Carb just removed, disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. Runs 100%
The impressive list of trick features on the 1995 260 LQ include Talon billet hubs front and rear, DID O-ring chain, Talon/Answer Radialite rear sprocket, Pro Taper handlebars, the latest White Power fork with high and low speed compression damping, White Power rear shock, shroudless 3.1 gallon fuel cell, machined billet triple clamps, quality Dunlop tires front and rear, and an innovative vacuum-actuated, adjustable power valve.
I bought this from the 54 year old original owner 3 months ago. He bought it NEW in 2005 from a local dealer who had it stored away in the crate in their backroom for a decade. According to him, it has been ridden less than 10 total hours since brand new. The reason he sold it was because he barely ever rode it.
After looking the bike over closely, I believe him. See the pics and decide for yourself. The original front tire still has the rib in the center! The original rear tire has the center rib but it is less pronounced. Also, there is no paint wear on the blue frame in the areas just above the footpegs. On heavily used dirtbikes, these areas always show paint loss & wear from riding boots.
I recently went through all the "red tape" to get this 260LQ registered for the street (in Vermont). So, technically it is street legal BUT it will need a light kit before it can actually be ridden on the street. The bike comes from the factory with a 160 watt lighting coil and basic wiring for a head light and tail light. Baja designs makes a complete lighting kit (with 12 volt battery & all switches) for this bike for around $400. The kit is easy to install yourself in a day or less.
I doubt you'll ever see another 260LQ on the street ...legally, anyway. Do you like riding something unique but still ultra reliable? Are you bored with the run-of-the-mill 4 stroke WRs, DRZ's, XR-L's, KTMs, that everyone is riding these days? Do you prefer buying AMERICAN MADE products? Do you love the smell of 2-stroke oil in the morning? This ATK is all that and more.
Comes with clear NY MSO (like a title), transferrable Vermont registration (what you'll use to title bike in your state), owners manual, original sales receipt, bill of sale, a new NGK spark plug and two quarts of 2 stroke oil.
Paypal NOT accepted for this motorcycle. Cash in person or cashiers check, money order, personal check by mail are all OK.
Scammers don't bother with me... The ATK will not leave my garage until payment has cleared into my account. No exceptions.
