Suzuki GS description

1985 Suzuki GS700ES

 ****Original survivor****

Ready to Ride!!!

Delivery Available

General:

Up for auction is a clean, well cared-for 1985 Suzuki GS700ES in what seems to be completely original condition.  It is equipped with Suzuki's's durable air-cooled, double overhead cam inline four cylinder engine and 5 speed transmission. This model is decended from the model that rewrote the rules in the 750cc street bike category when it was released in 1976. As you can see from the pictures, it looks great, and best of all, it is ready to ride.  It needs NOTHING!

Mechanical Condition:

Nice original survivor. 16,000 original miles.  Starts easily and runs great. Ready to ride; needs nothing. New battery and new rear tire. All lights and controls work as they should including digital gear indicator. Great candidate for full restoration or daily rider.

This motorcycle is in excellent mechanical  condition, and needs nothing but a new rider and a good home.  It starts easily and pulls very strongly throughout the rpm range.   The clutch engages smoothly and the transmission shifts easily.  All of the suspension components work well, as do the front and rear brakes.

The tires are in great shape and at least another year of  wear left.   All of the lights and controls work as they should.  There are no leaks apparent

 Cosmetic condition:

Cosmetically in very nice shape, although not perfect. It seems to completely original, including the Pearl white paint and the exhaust system.  There is a faint yellow gasoline stain on the right side of the tank, and a portion of the "Suzuki" decal there is damaged; see attached detail photos.  The right side cover is cracked in one place, but is completely secure to the bike.  The right side of the seat is slightly scuffed on its bottom edge.  See attached photos.

Chrome is in great condition:

There is also some very light oxidation on some of the aluminum surfaces.

Bike is missing right handlebar endcap.

Modifications:

The motorcycle looks to be completely stock

Marie or Port Huron Michigan, but the buyer is responsible for transporting the bike over the border.

John Hopkins Loses Fingertip [Warning: Graphic Image May be a Shocker]

Sat, 14 Jan 2012

Following numerous procedures and some complications, American racer John Hopkins has undergone surgery to remove the tip of his right ring finger. The Crescent Suzuki racer initially injured the finger in a crash while competing as a MotoGP wild card entry for Rizla Suzuki in the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno in August. Since then, Hopkins underwent six procedures to repair his finger to no avail.

Oh yes. You can win this Rizla Suzuki beanie

Thu, 04 Nov 2010

I dug this beanie out of the Visordown storage room and it could be yours. It is a one-owner model first registered in 2007, only a few miles on the clock but could do with a service (wash). It'll go the one lucky randomly selected person who reviews their GSX-R in our Motorcycle Reviews section.

A Different Bike Magazine

Thu, 12 Feb 2009

Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.
