Triumph Bonneville description

You have just about one chance to own a rig like this! We are offering for sale this BRAND NEW 1977 Bonneville Silver Jubilee Limited Edition Triumph 750cc motorcycle.

It is one of 1000 special edition bikes made for the USA consumption in 1977 (Triumph also made an additional 1000 units for Euro consumption that same year).

Yes - you read it right - this is a brand new bike - never had fuel in the tank, battery is dry pack. This bike was stored new, in it's original shipping crate for 36 years - when it arrived at our shop, the crate was carefully dismantled and the bike subjected to an intense going over.

The engine was free to turn, it was dusty, spoken plating (cadmium on the wheels had died, very minor rust appeared on the mufflers & headers.

The get ready work consisted of sending the wheels to Buchanan Wheel and Spoke for professional re-lacing with stainless steel spokes, parts with minor chrome rust blooms were re plated, and the entire bike subjected to very careful cleaning.

Only one chassis part required replacement - that being the rear brake master cylinder which had frozen up during its long storage - a correct new part replaced the frozen part.

Mileage on the odometer shows one mile. There is a certificate of ownership provided by Triumph factory declaring the "original proud owner" of this machine which honored the Silver Jubilee of "Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11". It is dated June 2, 1977. A clear title from the original owner goes with the bike.

The VIN number for this bike is JP84753 and the production number is 871.

The reserve is not low so "short" bids will not go anywhere I am afraid. This bike is for the true collector who wants a rare brand new Triumph as his/hers very own.

New Stuff: Bridgestone Battlax Racing R10s

Fri, 23 Sep 2011

...stickier than a Weatherspoons floor on a Friday night. Well that’s not exactly an official Bridgestone technical term but no matter which way you look at it the brand new Battlax Racing R10 tyre is a ‘Road legal’ Supersport/Superstock race tyre. It’s used as the control tyre for the Aprillia RRV450 race series.
