Triumph Rocket III description

2009 Triumph Rocket III Touring, one owner cream puff garage kept not a scratch on this one all books and records - Rocket III Touring Makes short work of the long haul. In style. When designing a new long distance touring motorcycle, an engine capable of effortlessly devouring the miles is without doubt the best place to start. You could say our designers had an unfair advantage with the unique and highly acclaimed Rocket III 2,300 cubic centimeter power plant at their disposal. However the engine, which is specially tuned for low down torque, and the same high specification braking system from the original Rocket III are the only major engineering elements carried over. Everything else is new. The Rocket III Touring is purposely designed and built to make it a great Custom Touring motorcycle. Suspension tuned to achieve high levels of comfort without compromising control, together with 180 millimeter rear tire and 16 inch wheels make lighter handling. Wide sumptuous seat for both rider and passenger, footboards front and rear, color matched waterproof hard cases and shrouded front forks with polished lower castings provide more comfort, practicality and style. It’s all new from the rider’s point of view too with new tank mounted instruments, a quick detach screen, switchgear and rider controls including a new heel and toe gear shift. All together it’s a machine that really does have the power to move you, your pillion and whatever you want to take, no matter how far you want to go.

AMA Sportbike: 2012 Daytona 200 Results

Tue, 20 Mar 2012

The 2012 Daytona 200 delivered another fairy-tale finish with underdog privateer Joey Pascarella and the Project 1 Atlanta team fending off a pack of three other racers to win by a slim 0.048 second margin. Competing in just his first Daytona 200, 19-year-old Pascarella from Victorville, Calif., held the lead for 41 out of 57 laps to finish first ahead of a last year’s winner Jason DiSalvo while Cameron Beaubier squeezed by 2010 Daytona Sportbike Champion Martin Cardenas in a photo-finish to take third. For the Project 1 Atlanta team, the win marked a dramatic turnaround from a let down in 2011.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump.
