Triumph Rocket III description
There is no other way to describe Triumph's Rocket III Roadster. It is a beast. Triumph has always been the leader in three-cylinder engine design, and when Triumph's engineers were told to design the biggest engine ever for a production motorcycle, they went crazy. They came up with an engine size of 2294 cubic centimeters (140 cubic inches). With pistons the size of those in muscle cars built in 1969, no other production motorcycle in the world even comes close in engine size. The inline fuel-injected three-cylinder engine develops 146 horsepower and an incredible 163 ft-lbs of jaw-clinching torque. A constant mesh five-speed gearbox and a rugged shaft drive transfer all that torque to the 7.5-inch wide cast aluminum rear wheel. An exceptionally strong tubular steel frame provides excellent rigidity. Even with all that brute power, the Rocket III Roadster still handles very well thanks to Kayaba front and rear suspension systems. Dual-disc front brakes with Nissin calipers and a single-disc rear brake with a Brembo caliper are controlled by an advanced Nissin anti-lock braking system (ABS), which is standard equipment. Many of the engine, chassis and suspension components have been blacked out, resulting in a stark look that emphasizes the stunning stainless steel triple-exhaust manifold and massive chromed twin silencer pipes. Exhaust restrictors have been removed resulting in more power and a sweeter three-cylinder rumble. Twin headlights add a distinctive look from the front and a teardrop shaped tail light dresses up the rear view This 2014 Phantom Black Rocket III Roadster features dual red stripes on the front fender, tank and rear fender.
