2015 TRIUMPH ROCKET III X LIMITED EDITION #79 / 500 This Rocket is a recent bank repossession. This bike is the low production X edition. Only 500 were built and this is #79. The bike only has 1K miles and is still under warranty until May 2017. The bike is completely stock except for the rear pillion. With only 1K miles the bike is like new. The tires and brakes are in great shape and all the gauges, horn and lights work perfectly. The only mark on the bike is a rub mark on the right exhaust muffler. (see picture) I have taken this bike on a reliability run and the engine, clutch and gearbox all work and sound as they should. Triumph is recalling motorcycles due to problems with electronics
Fri, 07 Nov 2014America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC will be recalled by the British company. According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.

Following the success of their first motorcycle drift video, featuring Nick Brocha on a stretched Kawasaki ZX-10R scorching rubber with Jim Guthrie on a Corvette-powered Mazda RX7, the guys set out to one-up themselves. With this video, I think it’s safe to say “Mission Accomplished.” This time around, Brocha is joined by Ernie Vigil and they’re riding modified Triumph Speed Triples.
Filling a void with an RD350LC
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC. It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching. I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration. Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience. I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love. And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor. The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more. I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects out there so why not have a go yourself?
