Triumph Trophy description

1970 Triumph 650CC TR6C, nice looking motorcycle. Was running when I purchased it in 2015. However since I purchased it due to my age (67) back surgery and bad knees keep me from starting it and the carburetor has developed a leak I believe that the float is stuck but I'm not sure. Mileage is unknown but a new speedometer is installed. The fork gaiters need to be replaced because they have some cracks in them. Tires are new as is the battery, however there is a draw on the battery from where I don't know but I keep it on a battery tender and it doesn't seem to be a problem, typical Lucas electrics. If I could kick it I would keep it and the wife won't let me keep it in the living room. Shipping is the buyers responsibility but I will help in anyway that I can. Payment by wire transfer, cash or check but motorcycle will not leave my poession until check has cleared my bank. Any questions please ask through eBay. THIS IS NOT A NUMBERS MATCHING MOTORCYCLE.

Looking after number 1

Fri, 06 Jan 2012

There was a time when a rider’s number indicated his position from the previous season, with the ultimate accolade being the number 1 emblazoned on the front of the champion's bike. The rise of branding in MotoGP and a rider wanting to market themselves, born from Barry Sheene and his retention of no.7, saw riders decide against displaying their finish from the year before. Rossi, who on winning his numerous championships, stuck with his famous #46 in defence of his titles, instead of stamping a great number 1 on his bikes.
