Polaris Registers Design for Liquid-Cooled Victory

Polaris Industries has registered a design patent with the European Union for what appears to be a new liquid-cooled Victory motorcycle. The design sketches, registered and published through the EU’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), reveal a single-seat cruiser with a liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. The overall aesthetic is very much a Victory, with stacked twin slash-cut exhausts and bobbed fenders similar to the Vegas 8-Ball.

We missed it yesterday, but July 4, 2011, represented Victory Motorcycles’ 13th birthday! Founded on July 4, 1998, the Polaris Industries-owned Victory Motorcycles has carved out its niche in the American motorcycle market with its line of cruisers and touring bikes. To celebrate its birthday, Victory released a video (look for it after the jump) featuring a test of its anti-lock brake system on a variety of surfaces.

2011 World Supersport Champion Chaz Davies

Chaz Davies has captured the 2011 Supersport World Championship, completing a triumphant return to the series for Yamaha. Davies, the 2008 Daytona 200 winner, finished the Magny-Cours round in sixth place, giving him an insurmountable 35-point lead over Hannspree Ten Kate Honda‘s Fabien Foret with one race remaining. The championship comes in Yamaha‘s return from a one-year absence from the series.
